Everything Crate does, including extracting, converting, background removal, text recognition, cleanup scans and app removal, runs locally. Crate never sends your files, or information about them, anywhere.

Optional tools you install yourself, such as ffmpeg or LibreOffice, also run locally on your Mac.

History records recent extractions, conversions, cleanups and removals. It stores only file names and locations, never their contents.

Clipboard history is stored locally for as long as you choose, from 1 hour to forever. Items from password managers are skipped automatically, and archive passwords are never stored.

You can clear history and clipboard history at any time.

License checks. Activating Crate Pro verifies your key with the license server. After that, Crate checks again at most every 30 days and works offline in between.

Updates. Crate checks for new versions and downloads them from its release host.

That’s it. There are no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising services.

App Remover and Cleanup move items to the Trash, never delete them permanently. You can put anything back until you empty the Trash.
